semiotic.systems
The existence of this page is coterminal with the existence of a system of signs, signes, signifiers, and significands. Taken structurally, they are the progeny of the existing order, the byproduct of history. Historically decontextualized, they are tools, suitable for use by the individual, but only with reference to the remaining context: one of a vast, underlying interdependent technological society. Or, alternatively put: they cannot be decontextualized from history without the negation of history itself. With reference only to a nullity, any understanding of them constitues a null dereference.
